Frequently asked questions

About the FemBloc Support Helpline

1. What is FemBloc and what's its mission?

FemBloc is a pioneering project that addresses gender-based violence in the digital sphere. Our mission is to provide support, resources, and advice to deal with this type of violence, contributing to the construction of safe and feminist digital spaces.

2. Why is it only aimed at digital gender-based violence?

Although it is essential for us to act against all forms and areas of gender-based violence, many studies point to the low visibility of this type of violence and also its increase. We believe that digital sexist violence must be treated as another expression of the violence suffered by women and LGBTI+ people, but that due to their specific characteristics, it requires specific resources.

Nevertheless, we work together with other care resources to be able to provide comprehensive care and support.

3. What does the FemBloc helpline offer?

It offers advice and support to those who have experienced digital violence. With a holistic approach, we offer psychological support, legal advice and/or technological security. We help you identify what types of digital attacks are happening to you, we carry out an analysis of the situation and the risk with you, we help you review the security of your accounts and devices, we develop a holistic digital security plan, and we accompany you during its implementation. If required, we carry out digital certification of the evidence/proof.

4. What DOESN'T the FemBloc helpline offer?

- We are not a technical support service. We offer technological support and accompaniment within the framework of your process of confrontation and recovery from this violence.

- We are not a computer expertise service. We can assess in those cases that the evidence is sufficient, and as a team, we believe it is necessary. In this case, it will be determined whether the expertise is carried out by Fembloc or contacts from external experts are provided.

- We are not a buffet of lawyers. We offer legal advice, and if you want to file a complaint and judicial process we can recommend specialized expert lawyers.

Accessibility and privacy

It means that you can leave the web without the need for confirmation from your browser that you are closing the tab. This button is intended for people who experience sexist violence and who, therefore, do not live in a safe environment.

The data confidentiality document guarantees the privacy of all your information. By signing it, you give us permission to handle your information confidentially and protected from FemBloc. This step is vital to comply with privacy laws and set clear limits on the use of your data, ensuring your trust and protecting your privacy.
